Coroner identifies man killed in bicycle crash on Hwy 46

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s office identified a bicyclist killed in a crash involving a pickup truck Saturday morning in Lost Hills.

Coroner officials say Donaciano Bustamante Aldama, 57, of Lost Hills was the bicyclist struck by a pickup truck. Aldama was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash was reported at 5:44 a.m. at Highway 46 and Lost Hills Road, according to CHP.

Highway patrol officials say Aldama was riding his bicycle on the right asphalt shoulder on Highway 46 traveling westbound when a driver of a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado veered his vehicle on the shoulder and struck him.

The crash remains under investigation.

Aldama was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to CHP. He was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
