Family Movie Night among April events at Holmes County District Public Library

Enter our Creative Writing Contest — Share original poetry or short stories (with or without illustrations) by entering the Holmes County District Public Library’s Writing Contest. Prizes will be awarded to the top entry in each category. Submissions are due by Saturday, April 20. Visit the library, the library’s website or call 330-674-5972 for details.

Storytimes at the East Branch – 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 17, and 24. Kids ages 2-5, with and adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs and rhymes.

Storytimes at the Central Library 10:30 a.m. Fridays, April 5, 12, 19 and 26. Kids ages 2-5, with and adult, are invited to join us for stories, songs, and rhymes.

Little Learners Playgroup at the Central Library – 11 a.m. Fridays, April 5, 12, 19 and 26. Kids up to age 5, with an adult, will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills. Snacks will be provided.

Family Movie Day at the Central Library 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6. Join for a showing of the animated adventure "Migration" – rated PG.

Youth Craft Night at the Central Library – 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9. Youth ages 10-15 will create a wind chime using shells, beads, and wood. Registration required.

"Let's Do Brunch!" at the Central Library – 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11.Whether it's a lazy Saturday morning with your beau or a get-together with your besties, brunch brings together the best of breakfast and lunch. Join Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension Educator, as she prepares a few brunch recipes. Registration is required.

Paws to Read at the Central Library – 11 a.m. - noon, Saturday, April 13. Kids are invited to read to a certified therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.

Bluey Wackadoo Day! at the Central Library – 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20. Kids are invited to enjoy all things “Bluey” with games, crafts and more, Registration required.

Kite Making at the Central Library – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25. Youth ages 6-12 will construct and decorate their own kite. Some may need adult assistance with the activity. Registration required.

Book Discussion for Adults – 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the Central Library, discussing “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride, and at 6 p.m. at Jitters Coffee House, discussing“Ink Blood Sister Scribe”, by Emma Torz.
