Family of 4 killed in Pleasanton crash identified

PLEASANTON, Calif. (KRON) — A Pleasanton family of four that was killed in a fiery crash on Foothill Road last week has been identified. Three of the crash victims were Tarun Cherukara George, 41, and his children, 9-year-old Aaron George, and 13-year-old Rowan George, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau confirmed.

Sources identified the fourth victim as the children’s mother, Rincy George. Neighbors said the family was heading home from a friend’s house when the crash happened at 9 p.m. on April 24.

All four family members died at the scene, police said.

Aaron and Rowan attended schools in Pleasanton. On Monday, a poster filled with handwritten notes from classmates were left against the oak tree. “Rowan, you were the most kindest person I had ever known,” one student wrote. “I’ll never forget the times we had in 4th grade,” another student wrote. “I wish you could be here!” a third student added.

According to the Pleasanton Police Department, the driver lost control and collided into a large oak tree on Foothill Road near Stoneridge Drive. Flames spread from the mangled vehicle into nearby vegetation. Remnants of wreckage found at the scene indicated that the vehicle was an electric car.
