False active shooter report at East Lincoln HS under investigation: Sheriff

LINCOLN COUNTY (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a false active shooter threat made Monday at a local high school.

Deputies said on Monday, April 1, units responded to East Lincoln High School for reports of an active shooter.

As deputies arrived at the school, they observed no signs of an active shooter, and a search of the entire campus was conducted. It was determined the call was a false report.

Lincoln County Schools were not in session at the time of the incident.

This case remains under investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
