The Atlanta Falcons would have made the playoffs in 2015, had it not been for an awful collapse. But the fact that they did have a second-half meltdown is perhaps a reason why Vegas isn’t friendly to them.

Despite an active offseason that saw them add talents in Alex Mack, Mohamed Sanu, Derrick Shelby, Courtney Upshaw and first-round pick Keanu Neal at safety, the Falcons Super Bowl odds for 2016 are low.

Per D. Orlando Ledbetter from The Atlanta Journal-Consititution, their Super Bowl odds are just 50-1 for 2016.

Before we talk about the Falcons, a number of these odds are questionable. The New England Patriots have 7/1 odds, even though Tom Brady is currently facing a four-game suspension for his alleged involvement in Deflategate.

The Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts are 22-1, despite both missing the playoffs and not doing a whole lot in the offseason to convince us they’ll be ready to go over the top. The Oakland Raiders are 25-1.

So the Falcons odds here don’t make much sense. They were better than those three teams last year, and are by far the most-improved team in 2016. The Falcons odds should be at least 30-1.

But hey, if the Falcons win Super Bowl 50, we can assume that a lot of fans will have made a nice payday, by accepting Vegas’ challenge.
