Fairhope to begin tree replacements in various locations

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Fairhope will begin to see tree replacements in various locations over the coming weeks, city officials said on Facebook.

Officials plan to remove trees along Section Street from Fairwood to Triangle Drive.

The post said the trees require replacement because of their age, deteriorating condition, infrastructure interference and public safety.

Trees will also be replaced on Fairhope Avenue east of Greeno Road to address electrical line interference.

The final phase of tree replacements will be in downtown Fairhope on Section Street from Morphy to Oak.

“This initiative is crucial for preserving the health and beauty of Fairhope’s street scape and to maintain our tree population,” the city’s Facebook post said.

City officials will keep residents in the know on social media and in weekly emails for possible traffic disruptions.
