Fairfield County Sheriff's Office assists Oregon police department with warrant arrest

LANCASTER -- The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office located and apprehended a suspect who had an active warrant out of the Dallas Police Department in Oregon on May 2.

The Dallas Police Department (D.P.D.) reached out to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office on May 1 to share information that they believed an alleged suspect Philip Mancuso, 36, from their jurisdiction was completing work in our area as a self-proclaimed handyman. D.P.D. advised that they currently had a full extradition warrant for Mancuso for sodomy (four counts), sex abuse (three counts), and incest (one count), according to a news release.

Mancuso was located staying at the Lancaster Campground on May 2 with his current girlfriend and two minor children. Mancuso was apprehended without incident and transported to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Jail where he will await extradition back to Oregon.

Sheriff Alex Lape thanked the sheriff’s office detective bureau, directed patrol units, SWAT team, and the South-Central Ohio Major Crimes Unit that helped bring Mancuso in without incident as well as the Dallas Police Department in Oregon for their assistance in locating Mancuso and advising them of his whereabouts.
