FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A man who worked as a substitute teacher in Loudon County and gave private music lessons in Chantilly faces child sex crime charges after he was found and arrested in Kansas, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said.

The Salina Police Department in Kansas arrested 40-year-old William Riddell on March 30. He will be held there pending extradition to Fairfax County.

Police obtained warrants for one count of possession of child pornography first offense, nine counts of possession of child pornography second offense, one count of reproduction of child pornography first offense and three counts of reproduction of child pornography second offense.

Riddell worked for Loudoun County Public Schools from 2008 and 2013 as a part-time substitute teacher. In 2012, he worked at Chantilly High School as a Booster clinician but he was considered as a non-FCPS employee. He has also given private music lessons in the Chantilly area under the company, Beat Farm Percussion, which he states that he owns on his LinkedIn profile.

According to FCPD, its investigation into Riddell started after it received a report indicating he may have had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a minor.
