F-22 Raptor assigned at Joint Base Langley-Eustis was involved in aircraft mishap

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WAVY) – An F-22 Raptor assigned to 71st Fighter Squadron at Joint Base Langley-Eustis was involved in an aircraft mishap Monday morning.

According to a press release from the Air Dominance Center, the mishap occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport.

One pilot was involved in the incident. No injuries were sustained.

The aircraft was taking part in exercise Sentry Savannah at the Air Dominance Center, according to officials.

“Thank you to all the first responders who arrived on scene,” Col. Stephen Thomas, commander, Air Dominance Center said. “Sentry Savannah is all about showcasing readiness and today’s mishap affirmed our Airmen’s ability to respond at a moment’s notice.”

The incident remains under investigation.
