‘Extreme damage’ reported at south Charlotte home after fire, $540K in damages

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — ‘Extreme damage’ has been reported at a south Charlotte home following a large fire over the weekend, the Charlotte Fire Department announced.

The blaze happened overnight around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, in the 11000 block of Stonepath Lane in south Charlotte.

As crews arrived at the scene, smoke and flames were visible. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in just under an hour.

Thankfully, no residents or firefighters were hurt in the incident.

Investigators determined the fire started in/or around the rear sun porch area. ‘Extreme fire damage’ has been reported throughout the interior and exterior of the home, fire officials said.

The estimated property loss is $540,000.
