Expect to slow down, stop as KDOT begins emergency repairs on this Kansas highway

If you’re driving along U.S. 400 in Butler County, be prepared to slow down, and expect a delay.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said Monday that they are closing the eastbound lane of U.S. 400 at Tallgrass Road in Butler County for an emergency culvert repair, KDOT spokesperson Tim Potter said.

Tallgrass Road is west of Beaumont.

Traffic is reduced to one lane and being directed by traffic signals. Drivers should expect a delay of up to 15 minutes, a KDOT news release said.

It is unknown how long the repairs will take, according to KDOT.

U.S. 400 stretches roughly 480 miles from Joplin, Missouri, across Kansas to Granada, Colorado.
