From Harper's BAZAAR

It was announced on Tuesday that Zara Tindall, one of the Queen's grandchildren, had given birth to her second child.

A regular fixture at royal events, Tindall is close to Prince Harry and Prince William, and is often seen chatting to the Duchess of Cambridge, too. Here's everything you need to know about her.

1) She's Princess Anne's daughter.

Tindall is one of Princess Anne's two children. She was born Zara Phillips on May 15, 1981, just two months before Princess Diana's wedding to Prince Charles. Tindall's father is Princess Anne's first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, an Olympian famed for his equestrian skills. The couple divorced in 1992, but Zara inherited her father's talent for horseback riding.

2) She married former English rugby player Mike Tindall in 2011.

Mike and Zara met in Australia in 2003, according to The Telegraph. Their engagement was announced on December 20, 2010, and they married in Edinburgh on July 30, 2011. Their wedding was attended by members of the royal family, including Queen Elizabeth, the bride's grandmother.

3) Mike and Zara now have two children together.

On January 17, 2014, Zara gave birth to a daughter, Mia Grace Tindall, and on June 18, 2018, the couple welcomed another baby girl, the seventh great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. She weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces, and was born at Stroud Maternity Unit in Stroud, England.

An official statement announcing the birth read, "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike’s parents, Mr. Philip and Mrs. Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news."

4) She doesn't have a royal title.

Unlike her cousins, Tindall doesn't have a royal title for an important reason. According to People, Princess Anne actually turned down the Queen's offer to make Zara a princess when she was born. According to OK!, Anne made the decision so her children could have more of a "'normal' upbringing."

People also points out that not all members of the royal family receive titles when they are born: "Zara and her older brother, Peter, were not entitled to royal status by birth since titles can only be given to a monarch’s grandchildren through sons, not daughters. But the Queen extended a courtesy title to Anne’s children, which she declined."

But not having a royal title has perhaps allowed Zara a freedom that other members of the royal family don't have. Tindall told The Times in 2015 (via People), “I’m very lucky that both my parents decided to not use the title and we grew up and did all the things that gave us the opportunity to do."

5) Zara is 17th in line to the throne.

But as one of the Queen's grandchildren, Zara is in line to the throne. She is currently 17th in succession.

6) She's the aunt of Savannah Phillips, who famously caused mischief at the royal wedding.

Zara's brother, Peter Phillips, has two children-seven-year-old Savannah Philips, who was extremely cheeky at this year's Trooping the Colour-and five-year-old Isla.

7) She studied physiotherapy, but realized she had a natural talent for horseback riding.

Taking after her father, Tindall began riding as a child, and it soon became clear that she had a talent with horses. She's held several horseback riding titles over her career, and in 2012, she was a part of Britain’s team at the London Olympic Games, winning silver, according to Country Life.

8) She's extremely close with Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

As Prince Harry and Prince William's cousin, it's no surprise that Zara is great friends with the royals. She's often seen talking with Kate Middleton at royal events, and is know to make the Duchess of Cambridge laugh.
