Evers calls for release of funds for healthcare and PFAS fight

MADISON, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Governor Evers has called the Wisconsin Joint Finance Committee into a special meeting to release funds to stabilize healthcare access in Western Wisconsin and fight PFAS statewide. The meeting is set to happen on April 16th.

In a release today (4/9/24), Evers says $140 million in funding has already been approved, and simply needs to be released. $15 million in Crisis Response Resources would go towards health care services here in Western Wisconsin in response to the closure of HSHS and Prevea Hospitals.
