Evergy plans open house for transmission line replacement

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Evergy will soon be replacing a transmission line between two north-central Wichita substations.

The transmission lines between the substation at 11th Street and Jefferson in Riverside to the substation located at 17th Street and Emporia Avenue. Evergy will hold an open house in April on the project.

Those who attend will be able to view early design plans, including preliminary pole types, pole size ranges, and approximate pole locations, and provide feedback that will be considered in the final design plans. A second open house will then be held once designs are near completion.

Residents in the area will be mailed more information about the open house, which will be held on Tuesday, April 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Minisa shelter building, located at 704 W. 13th Street.
