Enquirer readers choose Student of the Week winners for April 26

Cincinnati Enquirer readers showed up to choose the next Students of the Week for the period ending April 21.

Each week, these ballots are posted at 7 a.m. on Mondays. Like the popular athlete of the week ballots, voters may cast a ballot once an hour until the 2 p.m. deadline on Fridays.

School representatives such as teachers, counselors, club advisers, communication staff and principals can nominate these high school students by 4 p.m. on Thursdays. The three award categories are Academic Excellence, Art & Soul and Spirit. Certificates have been mailed to the schools for winners through April 5.

Academic Excellence

Parthav's leadership shines brightly as he takes on pivotal roles, guiding and inspiring his peers towards collective progress. Moreover, his active involvement in organizations like HOSA (for future health professionals) demonstrates his unwavering passion for making a tangible difference in healthcare and beyond.

Art & Soul Award

Wesley Anglin, Princeton

Wesley is an 11th-grader, very involved with the Music and Performing Arts departments at Princeton High School. He’s a drum major for the Pride of Princeton Marching Band and soloist for the Vocal Chamber Ensemble.

On the stage at Matthews Auditorium, he played the lead roles of Prince Charming in Cinderella, Hugo in Bye Bye Birdie, and this week as the characters River and Reindeer in The Snow Queen. Wesley is also a member of the swim and water polo teams.

Spirit Award

The senior is the epitome of all that is designated in the Spirit Award. He personifies a "spirit of kindness, positive leadership, encouragement, compassion, volunteerism, perseverance, and a will to serve others."

"I tell Asher frequently that I hope my own children surround themselves with people like him forever. He makes everyone he encounters feel seen, heard, and valued. He is loyal to his friends, teachers, peers, and community at large. His smile is contagious, and he increases the joy and love felt in any room and conversation he enters. Asher is one of the greatest humans anyone can encounter," his teacher Katie Isaacs said.
