Elton mayor recalled in Saturday election

ELTON, La. (KLFY) — Residents in Elton have voted to recall the mayor with 51% of the vote.

In December 2023, residents of Elton started a recall petition to recall Mayor Kesia Lemoine. The petition earned voters the opportunity to recall Lemoine if they chose to in Saturday’s election, after a district judge approved the recall in January.

These are the results for the Elton mayor recall election:

• For recall: 51% (205)

• Against recall: 49% (197)
