Elkhart man dies in Wednesday motorcycle wreck
May 2—ELKHART — An Elkhart man is dead following a motorcycle versus car crash Wednesday evening.
Jason Salyers, 45, Elkhart, was driving eastbound on U.S. 20, east of C.R. 115, at 6:13 p.m. when his 2017 Kawasaki ZX1 collided with the rear end of a 2011 Subaru Legacy driven by Brittainy Gilliland, 36, Elkhart, according to an Elkhart County Sheriff's Office news release.
Salyers was thrown from his motorcycle, causing him to sustain life threatening injuries and was later declared dead at the scene. Gilliland's vehicle sustained moderate rear end damage, and neither her nor her two passengers reported injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
