Elizabeth Olsen Reveals What Her Sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Taught Her About Fame
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen may have put their acting days behind them, but the high-profile fashion designers remain extremely public figures. That’s why the older siblings still have plenty to teach their younger sister, Avengers: Infinity War star Elizabeth Olsen, about navigating a public career while still maintaining a private personal life.
“There are always ways you can be private — my sisters are intimately private and I respect that,” the 29-year-old actress told Harper’s Bazaar. By rarely doing interviews, showing up only at select events, and keeping their personal lives mostly to themselves, the Olsen twins are certainly examples of how you can keep a tight reign around the parts of your life that you wish to keep away from prying eyes.
That’s why their younger sister added, “They showed me that you can be private, but also accessible to journalists, for those reasons. It’s helpful that I learned my value system from them.”
While chatting with Us Weekly in July 2017, Elizabeth also revealed how Mary-Kate and Ashley have helped her shape her career. “I think they’ve given me a lot of little advice along the way,” she said, explaining that they’ve even recommended specific “people to work with” in the industry in addition to offering constructive feedback.
However, she did confess that her older sisters *do not* help her prepare for roles or read over scripts with her. “I think that’s like an idea the world has of [me and my sisters] or something,” Elizabeth said, adding, “but no, I’m not standing around running lines with my sisters.”
