El Paso man who allegedly kidnapped son now wanted for harassment

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The man who allegedly kidnapped his 2-year-old son and prompted an amber alert last month is now a wanted fugitive, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Amber Alert mom: ‘He was going to murder us’

The Sheriff’s Office, along with Crime Stoppers of El Paso, released the “Most Wanted Fugitives” for this week and Miguel Angel Montoya is currently wanted for alleged harassment.

Montoya was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail on Friday, March 15 after allegedly kidnapping his son and was charged with assault family violence, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, and aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon. His bonds totaled to $235,000.

Montoya posted a cash or surety bond and was released on Wednesday, April 3.
