Here are 'egg-citing' Easter egg hunts to enjoy in the Wilmington area

Spring is fast approaching and the same goes for Easter.

While Easter is usually in April, this year it's on March 31. And if you or your family loves this time of the season to take pleasure in spring festivals or egg hunts, then hop over to these eight fascinating events happening in the Wilmington area.

New Hanover

Egg hunt for adults with disabilities

The Martin Luther King Community Center will hold the annual Egg hunt for adults with disabilities, Wednesday, March 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, located at 401 S. Eighth St., Wilmington. The cost is $5 per person and will feature egg hunting and games. Details: 910-341-7866.

Easter egg hunt at Masonboro Baptist Church

An Easter egg hunt for ages 2-12 will be held Friday, March 22 beginning at 10 a.m. at Masonboro Baptist Church, 1501 Beasley Road, Wilmington. There will be crafts, face painting and games. Remember to bring your own basket.

Egg hunt/spring festival

A spring festival and egg hunt, sponsored by the Pinpoint Properties, will be held Sunday, March 24 from 3-5 p.m. at Long Leaf Park, Shelter 4. RSVP for the free event at 910-707-3802. There also will be coloring, festive snacks and a surprise giveaway.

Belville's Riverwalk Easter egg hunt

The town of Belville Parks and Recreation Department will hold its annual Belville Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Belville Riverwalk Park, 580 River Road, S.E., Belville. The egg hunt is for ages 2-12 and open to Brunswick County residents only. Participants must register in advance at https://belvillepr.recdesk.com/Community/Calendar. There will be special prizes for special eggs. Music. Take a photo with the Easter Bunny. Each participant must supply their own basket. One parent/guardian will be allowed with their young child.

Bunny Hop at Ocean Isle Beach

Ocean Isle Beach will hold its annual Bunny Hop event on Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the Town Center Park, 11 E Second St., Ocean Isle Beach. The event is free. There will be egg hunts, face painting, photo with the Easter Bunny and other fun activities for the entire family. Please bring your basket. Details: 910-579-2166.

Easter 'eggstravaganza' hunt in Shallotte

The annual Shallotte Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 30, starting promptly at 9 a.m. at Mulberry Park, 123 Mulberry St., Shallotte. There will be three different areas for different age groups. Participants can take pictures with the Easter Bunny after the egg hunt. Remember to bring your own basket. The event is free. Community Easter egg hunt

A community Easter egg hunt will be hosted by the Living World Church on Saturday, March 30 beginning at 10 a.m. The egg hunt will begin promptly at 10 a.m. at 1029 George II Highway, Winnabow. There also will be a bounce house and slide, games, Piñatas, free food and more.

Surf City Easter egg hunt

The town of Surf City will hold its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, March 30 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Surf City Community Center Athletic fields, 201 Community Center Drive, Surf Center. The egg hunt will be at three different times for different age groups. 9:30 a.m. ages 4 and under, 9:45 a.m. ages 5-6 and 10 a.m. ages 7-12. Please bring your own basket.
