This pit stop along US 17 in Brunswick was once vital for several communities

It's an area that's generally considered in the middle (or close) of Brunswick County.

Supply is located at the midpoint of the town of Bolivia, the county seat, and the city of Shallotte, just south of the Green Swamp (around the intersection of U.S. 17 and N.C. 211). The name came about from the use of the Lockwood Folly River as a trade route in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The residents of the beach communities of Holden Beach, Oak Island, Ocean Isle, Caswell Beach and Sunset Beach often used to commute to Supply for merchandise and other materials.

Supply is home to Supply Elementary School, Cedar Grove Middle School, a post office, fire stations, convenience stores, fast food restaurants, and two parks, Cedar Grove Park and Lockwood Folly District Park.
