Eau Claire man accused of 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child appears in court

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl in Eau Claire appeared in court this morning (5/23/24). 36-year-old Ray Jackson is charged with 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement, and kidnapping. The criminal complaint says Jackson grabbed the 14-year-old girl by the wrist and led her into a porta-potty, near the Forest Street Community Gardens. The complaint says he used his body to block the door so she could not get out. Jackson is suspected to have sexually assaulted her. The court ordered a $200-thousand cash bond. Jackson is set to appear in court again on Tuesday, May 28th.
