Whitney Dean's lies about adopting Britney Wainwright have been exposed in EastEnders.

Britney has moved in with Whitney and Zack Hudson in Walford after meeting them in Milton Keynes, though Whitney has been misleading Zack about fostering her.

Lauren Branning has recently tried to convince Whitney to come clean with Zack and admit she'd paid off Britney's mum under the table to take her back to Walford.

The two friends continued arguing over the lie in Wednesday's (April 24) episode, with Zack even overhearing them in the Minute Mart at one point.

Even though Whitney was able to keep him from finding out the truth momentarily, she soon had another crisis with Britney at hand.

Lauren and Whitney were concerned to hear about Britney being bullied at school. Zack encouraged Whitney to let the girl have a chance to handle the situation on her own first.

However, Whitney rushed to Britney's defence by confronting the bullies, which only made things worse and led to the girls tormenting Britney even more.

While Britney had some support from her new friend Lexi Pearce, she was angry with Whitney for giving the bullies more ammunition.

Back at home, Britney complained to Lauren and Zack that Whitney had just "made everything worse" by getting involved with the bullies.

"She's ruined everything. I hate this place," Britney declared.

Zack was horrified as Britney revealed that Whitney had "stolen her" from her mother back in Milton Keynes — there was no official fostering agreement.

"I ain't being anyone's dirty little secret anymore," Britney vowed.

Just then, Whitney was stopped in her tracks as she walked through the door by Zack demanding to know what was going on with Britney.

The storyline will only get more dramatic in the episodes to come as Bianca Jackson returns to Walford to confront Whitney.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
