EastEnders star Juhaim Rasul Choudhury has responded to Nugget's steroids storyline on the soap.

The teenager has recently turned to steroids amid Denzel Danes's dependency on them, notably amid his guilt after attempting to kiss Amy Mitchell.

Taking to Instagram yesterday (May 22), Juhaim encouraged followers to "be confident in your body" amid his character's body image issues.

"Tonight Davinder 'Nugget' Gulati took anabolic steroids due to how he feels about his body," he wrote. "There are so many people, especially teenagers, who feel insecure about their body image and take drastic measures to change their body.

"Please try to be confident in your body and understand the beauty of it. You are beautiful. We are beautiful."

The actor has received a lot of praise in the comments for his words, one writing: "Such an important message. There is much more in making you who you are, not just body shape.

"Be proud of you, not just see what you could or may not ever be able to achieve. Thank you Eastenders for tackling this tricky issue and the dangers of Anabolic steroids."

"I'm really excited for my future and for EastEnders' future too. It is at the heart of the nation."
