EastEnders has aired Lexi Pearce's heartbreaking reaction to Jay Brown's baby news.

Earlier this week, Jay's former love interest Nadine returned to Walford to reveal that she was pregnant with his child.

Jay initially reacted badly to the news, questioning whether he was even the father since Nadine is a sex worker. An understandably offended Nadine explained that he'd been her only client when she got pregnant.

Nadine tried to hide her pregnancy from Jay at first because of Ben Mitchell's demeaning insults once he found out they'd been together.

"I knew I had to have an abortion. There was time, I'd book it in," she recalled. "Then, six weeks pass, seven. Seven became ten and now it's real."

When Jay asked if Nadine had come looking for money, she said that she'd misjudged him all along and walked out.

Viewers later saw Nadine approach Lexi to introduce herself after spotting her shopping at the Minute Mart.

At the Vic later on, Gina encouraged Jay to come clean with his family about this life-changing news before they found out some other way.

Jay gathered Callum, Honey and Billy together to tell them the truth, but was stunned to find out that Lexi already knew about Nadine.

"Is it true? You got that prostitute pregnant," Lexi demanded to know. "How could you?'

When Jay couldn't deny it, a tearful Lexi stormed off and ordered Jay not to follow her. The adults were disappointed as well, with Callum shown shaking his head in disgust.

Will Jay be able to make things right between Nadine and his family?
