Eastbound I-70 reopens in Genesee after rollover crash

DENVER (KDVR) — Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed near Genesee, near the Lookout Mountain exit, at about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday after a reported rollover crash. The roadway reopened at about 4:30 p.m.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the crash was near milepost 254 and involved several cars, including the dump truck. The truck was carrying asphalt, which had spilled.

All traffic on eastbound I-70 was directed to exit the highway in Genesee because of the extended, full-road closure. The closure is for “crash recovery” and cleanup.

CDOT was called by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to help with the cleanup.
