Eagle eye view: Watch 3 bald eagles grow up on Oklahoma's best reality show

Nature enthusiasts and bird watchers are in for a treat. The George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center offers a rare opportunity to watch bald eaglets transform into fledglings from the comfort of their homes.

For the next 11 to 12 weeks, viewers can embark on a journey to witness the wonders of nature in real-time through a live stream camera poised over a bald eagle's nest in Bartlesville.

This fascinating window into the lives of America's national symbol is accessible at www.suttoncenter.org/live-bald-eagle-nestcamera. This initiative is part of the Sutton Center's education and outreach aimed at fostering an appreciation for wildlife conservation.

The center's bald eagle recovery project is instrumental in the resurgence of these majestic birds across the southern United States. From a daunting start in 1985 when there were no known nesting pairs in Oklahoma, the project's vision catalyzed the growth of the bald eagle population, which now boasts more than 350 monitored nest territories statewide and even extends into neighboring states.

This nest, which recently hatched three eaglets, is one of several under the vigilant eye of the center's nest cams, which started in 2005 with the first cam installation in Tulsa.

"The success of the Sutton Center's programs would not be possible without our dedicated supporters," Dr. Lena Larsson, Executive Director of the Sutton Center, said. "As we celebrate 40 years of achievements, we continue to share what we learn about birds and strive to protect them for the generations to come."

This year's Bald Eagle Nest Cam has been made possible through the support of the Duke Energy Foundation.
