Dump truck bed detaches from cab, causes issues on I-66

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Crews worked to clear part of Interstate 66 Monday afternoon after a dump truck bed broke loose from the cab that carried it.

VDOT Northern Virginia posted about the incident on the X platform. The post, which went out at 4:18 p.m., said that two of the general purpose lanes westbound near Stringfellow Road were closed. The right express lane also was shut down.

At the time, the resulting traffic backup was about a mile. A wrecker was there. VDOT advised people they could expect delays.
