Drivers beware: Parts of Germantown Parkway to close for 10 days starting this weekend

The City of Germantown announced the closure of southbound Germantown Parkway at Wolf River for ten days.

This is part of the continued effort from the Tennessee Department of Transportation to make repairs to the Wolf River Bridge.

Closures will begin on Friday, April 12, at 8 p.m. and last until Monday, April 22, at 6 a.m. All work is weather dependent.

Previously, the department had shut down the northbound lanes at two different times. Now, it will be the southbound lanes affected. The city has posted detour options that include Humphreys Boulevard and Walnut Grove Road.

"During the 10-day closure, crews will hydro-demolition the bridge deck and provide a new polymer concrete overlay. The polymer-modified concrete has strict temperature restrictions," the announcement from the city said.
