Driver injured in wrong-way crash on Kennedy Expressway ramp

CHICAGO — A driver was injured in a head-on, wrong-way crash involving a garbage truck on the ramp of the Kennedy Expressway.

The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. Tuesday on the northbound Interstate 90 exit ramp to Armitage Avenue.

Illinois State Police responded to a report of a head-on crash, where a vehicle was driving southbound on the northbound ramp when it struck a garbage truck.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
