Driver cited in two-car wreck Friday in Rowan County

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in an early-morning wreck Wednesday, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol.

Troopers charged Gregorio Benitez-Osuna in the wreck, citing him with failure to yield. Benitez-Osuna and his passenger suffered injuries and emergency personnel took both people to the hospital for medical treatment.

The wreck happened around 8:07 am on N.C. 801 at Sherrill’s Ford Road near Mount Ulla. Troopers said Benitez-Osuna, a Cleveland resident, hit a Ford pickup truck and was trapped in the two-vehicle wreck.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene and freed Benitez-Osuna soon after.
