Driver, 13, arrested after leading Florida trooper on 4-mile chase in Dodge Challenger: FHP

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 13-year-old driver was arrested after they sped away during a traffic stop and led a trooper on a 4-mile chase, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials said they tried to pull over a Dodge Challenger driver at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday after the driver failed to stay in their lane on Immokalee Road near Wilson Boulevard in Naples.

As the trooper approached the Dodge, the FHP said the driver sped away and turned off the car’s lights.

The trooper chased after the Dodge and the driver eventually stopped four miles down the road, near Immokalee Road at Quarry Drive.

The 13-year-old, who was not identified, was arrested for fleeing and eluding and having no driver’s license, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The teen was taken to the Collier County Jail.
