Drive-thru seltzer, soda business replacing longtime fruit, plant stand in Crescent Hill

A new-to-market drive-thru beverage shop is headed to the Crescent Hill neighborhood.

Fizz District is set to open its doors in mid-September at 3130 Frankfort Ave., said Karla Green, senior brand mixologist, in an email.

The beverage concept will focus on sodas and seltzers. Green said more details would be shared closer to the opening date.

A soda and seltzer focused business called Fizz District is slated to open at 3130 Frankfort Avenue in September, replacing a long-running plant and fruit stand.

The shop will offer drive-thru and walk-up service, according to plans submitted in late April to Louisville Metro Planning and Design Services. A map shows traffic entering off Frankfort Avenue and exiting to Crestwood Avenue.

While the building wouldn’t be open for patrons, a patio off Crestwood Avenue would provide seating.

The property, between Crestwood Avenue and Crabbs Lane, is owned by Kamal Fathalizadeh, according to deed records.

The 645-square-foot building was built in 1930 as a gas station. More recently, it was home to James Fruit Market, a roadside plant and vegetable stand.

Renovation work is planned to "clean, repair and preserve" the building without changing the exterior design, according to plans submitted to the city.
