Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant Helped a Fan Pull Off a Netflix-Themed Proposal
Netflix and propose. Just in time for proposal season, a man named Conor recently tapped the help of Netflix to help pull off a memorable proposal that involved Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant.
Both Barrymore and Olyphant play a couple in Netflix zombie comedy Santa Clarita Diet, and Conor’s girlfriend of six years, Kamela, is a huge fan of the show. He devised a plan in which he tricked Kamela into believing she was going to be featured on a show in the style of Bravo’s The People’s Couch, but instead—Netflix producers awaited behind the scenes to document the special moment.
The two then take a seat; behind Conor and Kamela is a red ring box resting on a bookshelf. “She thinks she’s on a reality show,” he jokes as the two sit down to watch a clip of Barrymore and Olyphant share their secrets to a healthy marriage.
“The secret to marriage is to never let your wife go to bed hungry…” Olyphant jokes. “Really it’s all about unconditional love.”
“Yeah, and you need that because marriage can be messy,” says Barrymore.
Conor then interrupts Barrymore and Olyphant’s couch moment as he appears on screen while his girlfriend hyperventilates. (Caution: There is some cursing!) He then reaches for the ring nestled on the shelf and drops down to one knee as Kamela cries.
“It’s awesome being your boyfriend, but if you’re cool with it… I’d rather be your husband,” he warmly notes.
