Dreams in full bloom in Auburn Gresham as flower shop on its way to becoming a reality

CHICAGO — A dream is coming into full bloom for one woman from Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

It takes a special person to find not only beauty but possibility in all things. While most see vacant boarded up strips as eye sores, Tatiana Williams saw the perfect foundation to grow a flower shop.

Herdream floral shop at 79th Street and South Loomis will come into full bloom this fall thanks to a community development grant from the city.

The grant money will be enough to gut the interior and fix the roof, but Williams knows it will take more to do the job.

Through making bouquets and a GoFundMe campaign, she hopes to raise enough to finish the necessary renovations.
