Dragons' Den was slightly brutal tonight
Tonight's Dragons' Den was an utterly ruthless episode, with the Dragons destroying business dreams left, right and centre.
One couple, Mike and Zena, were so keen on making their healthy dog treat business a success that they sold their house to invest in it – but their pitch didn't go down so well with viewers.
Kids we are going to be homeless but the dogs will eat like a king! 🙈 #dragonsden

My dog eats out the bin and rolls in horse shit, I'm sure he wants organic, free range bespoke dog food. #DragonsDen
- Knazzer 🏳️🌈 (@knazzer) August 27, 2017
Dogs aren't worried about healthy eating 🤣 #dragonsden
- Joel Green (@JG_1408) August 27, 2017
My dog would eat those treats then go out and eat it’s own shit. So it’s a no from me #DragonsDen

They've sold their children's inheritance to make dog treats.
Can you divorce parents?! #DragonsDen- Joel Gleicher (@JoelG_88) August 27, 2017
"Go big or go home" - dude, you've sold your house... You can't go home! #dragonsden
- Stuart Taylor (@stuartctaylor) August 27, 2017
Let me get this straight this guy has sold his family home to fund a business for dried dog food - I've heard it all now #dragonsden

The idea didn't impress all the Dragons either, although they were eventually offered £50,000 in exchange for a 15% stake by Jenny Campbell.
It all ended in smiles eventually, as the couple accepted Jenny's offer – with Mike saying he'd even wondered whether he should kiss Jenny.
Another pair of business partners looked a little mismatched on paper, with pensioner William and 25-year-old Fenna bringing their idea for a used book business, Bookbarn International, to the Dragons.
And viewers weren't too sure about this one either:
when you just wanted a sugar daddy but suddenly you find yourself roped into an investment pitch #DragonsDen

And now, the new Dr and her assistant. #dragonsden

Old books and a cafe. Already bust, £400k in debt but it's worth a £1m. 👉🚶 #DragonsDen Don't make me laugh.

But others were a little more impressed by Fenna's young age and William's revelation that he's Charles Darwin's great-great-grandson:
I took a gap year and got made a CEO! #FairPlay #dragonsden

When you casually drop your family tree into the mix… 😱 #DragonsDen pic.twitter.com/hvmvKms9us

Have you heard of my great great grandfather Charles Darwin? What a name drop!! WINNER!! #dragonsden
- Joel Green (@JG_1408) August 27, 2017
Sadly for the pair, they didn't receive any offers of investments.
It was better news for business partners Liam and Craig, whose 'clean-eating' snack business received offers from Jenny, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones and Tej Lalvani.
Not everyone watching was that impressed with the idea:
Looks like the natural supplements guys use the left over stock of the doggy treat makers. #DragonsDen

Protein popcorn?!? Whats the big deal with all these protein foods these days? Go eat some chicken! #dragonsden
- Jay Card (@OfficialJayCard) August 27, 2017
Protein popcorn. No no no. Only toffee popcorn is acceptable. #dragonsden
- Paul Friend (@dnwx) August 27, 2017
Protein Popcorn sounds like something you feed Pokémon to increase their attack stat. #dragonsden
- Robert Beauchamp (@RobertBea) August 27, 2017
Could people just not eat a balanced diet #dragonsden
- Jason Hall (@HallJason7hall) August 27, 2017
£33!! Just make normal popcorn and sprinkle protein powder on it!! 😂#dragonsden
- Dan Lewis (@danofthewires) August 27, 2017
But it was a happy ending for Liam and Craig, as they managed to strike a deal with Tej and Peter.
Dragons' Den continues next Sunday at 8pm on BBC Two.
