Dothan man accused of setting ablaze to ex’s truck, house

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A Dothan man is charged with attempted murder after police say he went to the home of an ex and set their car and house on fire.

Keith Cleveland, 61, is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder.

According to Dothan Police, shortly after midnight on Saturday, April 27, Cleveland went to the home of someone he had a previous relationship with and slashed the tires of a truck inside the garage before setting the truck on fire.

The fire spread through the garage and into the house, and by the time the first responders arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. No one in the home was injured.

Dothan Police spokesperson Lt. Scott Owens says investigators discovered Cleveland had threatened one of the victims before setting the fire.

Cleveland was arrested the same day as the fire and was booked into the Houston County Jail on a $120,000 bond.
