Don’t use these smoke detectors sold on Amazon, CPSC warns

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — About 6,800 CHZHVAN-brand combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are being recalled because they may not alert people to a fire.

There have been five reports of the devices failing to activate in the presence of smoke, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

No injuries have been reported to date.
