Dog rescued in Dauphin County house fire

LONDONDERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) – Firefighters rescued a dog from a house fire in Londonderry Township on Thursday.

The Londonderry Fire Company says just before 9 a.m. they were dispatched to a home on Colebrook Road for a kitchen fire.

Breaking News

Firefighters arrived at the home seeing smoke and were told everyone made it out of the house except for a dog. Inside firefighters found the kitchen fire extended into the living room.

Firefighters were able to locate the dog inside the home and brought it out to safety. The dog received oxygen and was taken to an animal hospital. No injuries were reported from the fire.

Five people, including three children, were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
