A preview of the 2017 Doctor Who Christmas special, Twice Upon a Time, was shown on BBC One’s Children In Need telethon on Friday. While Doctor Who fans are always excited for more of the show, this Christmas episode is definitely going to be one to remember.

In Peter Capaldi’s final episode, the 12th Doctor gets to meet the first Doctor, played by David Bradley. And while we’re super excited to meet Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor, the first woman as the Doctor and 13th incarnation, this final performance on Doctor Who will surely be a highlight for the franchise. The role of the first Doctor was originally played by William Hartnell. But Bradley adopted the character, appearing confused as to who the 12th Doctor was and called the new Tardis “hideous.”

The men were joined by a World War I pilot played by Mark Gatiss, who seemed even more perplexed by his surroundings, asking, “Am I going mad?” Gatiss gets even more confused when the Doctor refers to World World One as the first world war. Spoilers!

The clip ends with the first Doctor realizing who Capaldi is as the 12th Doctor shows him his hand regenerating. “You are me?” he asked in surprise, but as Peter confirmed that he was, Bradley replied, “I assumed I’d get younger.”

Hilariously Calpadi ends the clip yelling, “I am younger!”

We cannot wait to see this very special Doctor Who episode!

Check it out.

The special is sure to pack in the laughs as well as the tears. It will be sad to see Capaldi’s final moments, but exciting to see Whittaker’s first as the Time Lord — or Time Lady. Is it Christmas yet?
