District Attorney determines that no criminal charges will be filed against law enforcement in Green Bay after officer-involved shooting

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – No criminal charges will be filed against law enforcement following an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead back in February.

Brown County District Attorney David Lasee issued his decision regarding the death of Steve Ventura. It was determined that there would be no criminal charges for the involved law enforcement.

According to a release from the DOJ, Officer Dan Skenandore of the Green Bay Police Department located a vehicle on the afternoon of February 23 that was believed to be involved with a weapons violation call on Green Ridge Drive near Open Gate Trail.

Outagamie County crash involved two motorcycles, a semi & an SUV, one driver taken into custody

Officials say the suspect, Ventura, fired his weapon when police arrived on the scene leading to an exchange of gunfire between Skenandore and Ventura.

No law enforcement were reportedly hurt, however, Ventura was injured during the exchanged gunfire and taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
