Deputies: Child injured in fall from golf cart

OAKFIELD TOWSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A child was hospitalized after falling from a golf cart in rural northeastern Kent County, deputies say.

It happened around 4:20 p.m. Sunday on McClain Street NE near Heintzelman Road in Oakfield Township, west of Greenville.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said an 11-year-old was driving the golf cart and two 7-year-olds were passengers. One of the 7-year-olds fell off the cart while on the roadway.

The child was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The crash was under investigation.
