Denver weather: Warm and sunny Saturday, nice weekend ahead

DENVER (KDVR) —  Denver’s weather remains very warm and comfortable through the weekend as high temperatures top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s in the metro area.

Sunday could be Denver’s first 80-degree day of the year. However, with the warm and dry air comes elevated fire danger and southeast Colorado is under a Red Flag Warning through 8 p.m. Saturday.

Weather today: Plenty of sun

Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies will dominate the area on Saturday as high temperatures are forecasted to max out in the upper 70s and lower 80s which is about 15 degrees above average. Winds will be out of the southwest anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Weather tonight: Mostly clear and comfy

Skies remain clear overnight into Sunday with temperatures sinking down into the middle 40s. Winds will be out of the northwest anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Looking ahead: Warm Sunday ahead of weekday showers

Sunday will be sunny, breezy and warm. High temperatures will climb to 80 degrees, which is just shy of the daily record of 83 degrees set in 1963.

Our next big change comes in on Monday as Denver could be seeing a chance of showers in the afternoon.

Highs will be cooler too in the lower 70s under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Showers are likely overnight Monday into Tuesday along with a thunderstorm or two and some of those showers will bleed into early Tuesday morning.

Wednesday will be dry, cooler and more seasonal with highs in the 60s. This will be followed by another chance for showers and much cooler temperatures to end the week.
