Denver weather: Snow ends leaving behind slick roads

DENVER (KDVR) — Snow is finishing up in the metro area on Monday morning. There will be little to no additional accumulation in Denver.

Some areas in Colorado, however, will get another 1-2 inches of snow, mainly in the high country.

With that being said, a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day was issued for Monday as impacts are lingering, including slippery roads and poor visibility in the Denver weather forecast. The Pinpoint Weather team recommends against traveling if you can avoid it, especially in the first half of the day.

Weather today: Overcast and breezy

Winds will be particularly strong Monday, as gusts will come out of the north anywhere from 20-30 mph. This, along with heavy cloud cover, will ensure below-average temperatures.

Gusts in and around the metro area could top out at 40 mph. Additionally, while there will be some melting, the solar shovel will unfortunately not be out in full force so the roads could remain a problem by Monday afternoon.

High temperatures will be in the middle 30s.

Weather tonight: Mostly cloudy with blustery winds

Denver will remain dry overnight as lows sink into the middle teens under mostly cloudy skies. There will be some melting during the day, but then that moisture will refreeze overnight on the roadways, bringing slippery road conditions again for Tuesday’s commute.

Winds will stay out of the north between 10-20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
