Denver weather: Metro rain and mountain snow, Pinpoint Weather Alert Day Saturday

DENVER (KDVR) — Spotty showers will linger throughout Friday with a better chance for rain later in the day. Highs will be in the upper 60s in the Denver weather forecast.

Mountain and foothill travel could be impacted by a weekend snowstorm, causing a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day to be issued on Saturday.

Rain continues along the Front Range Friday night with snow pushing into the high country. Winds will be lighter with mild metro lows in the lower 40s.

Looking ahead: Weekend mountain snow, metro rain and cooler temps

Winter weather advisories and winter storm watches will be in effect in the mountains and foothills through early Sunday as travel could be impacted. Areas within the winter storm warning could see up to and over a foot of snow.

With that impacted travel in the higher elevations, the meteorologists have made Saturday a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day.

Denver will see showers through Saturday, some being moderate as highs are cooler near the 50-degree mark. The Palmer Divide could see some snow showers through Saturday and Saturday night, but roads will mainly stay wet.

Rain will wrap up in Denver on Sunday morning, with clouds and a spotty shower in the afternoon. Highs at the end of the weekend will be below average in the upper 50s.

Sunshine is back to kick off the workweek with mainly sunny skies and above-average highs in the upper 60s.

Tuesday is another comfy day with sunny skies and mild highs in the lower 70s. Wednesday stays just as mild as highs hit the low 70s. But with a few extra clouds, Denver could see some spotty showers.

Thursday also has the chance for a sprinkle with warm highs in the upper 70s.
