Denver scooter rider injured in hit-and-run crash, suspect wanted

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police are searching for a driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash with a stand-up electric scooter rider.

The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Sunday in Denver’s North Lincoln Park neighborhood.

According to police, the scooter rider was attempting to cross Mariposa Street at 14th Avenue. Police said the car was heading south on Mariposa Street.

The scooter rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital from the scene.

The suspect vehicle is described as an early 2000’s Acura TL sedan. It’s maroon in color and probably has moderate damage to the front end.

Police have not released any suspect description information as of Tuesday morning, but they did release a possible photo.
