Deadly late-night motorcycle crash on I-77

RICHFIELD, Ohio (WJW) — A 21-year-old man died at the scene of a motorcycle crash that shut down a section of Interstate 77 overnight.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of a portion of I-77 in Richfield, shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office later Tuesday identified the man as 21-year-old Jonathan A. Mostoller, of Fairlawn. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

The Richfield Police Department said in a statement, “Initial reports indicate a 21-year-old male was operating a motorcycle at a high rate of speed and lost control. The motorcycle struck another vehicle and then struck a tractor trailer.”

The interstate was closed for several hours. It is not clear if anyone else was injured.
