DEA to host ‘Spring Take Back Day’ this Saturday

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be hosting “Spring Take Back” day on Saturday, April 27 where they will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs.

The event will be offering free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at thousands of drop-off locations nationwide, according to a press release from the DEA.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 10 locations in El Paso and West Texas, and over 40 locations in New Mexico.

Collection sites will not accept syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The cap must be tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
