DC police: Suspect escapes custody, steals bike, holes up on roof

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police said officers were at the scene of a barricade situation in Northwest Wednesday afternoon.

Metropolitan Beer Trail returns to the District this weekend

In a post on the X platform, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that officers were in the 600 block of H St. NW.

MPD said officers had detained a suspect who managed to escape and stole a bike. Officers spotted the suspect, who had climbed on top of a building, a short time later. Officers then blocked off the area.

In an update just before 4:35 p.m., MPD said that the situation had been resolved and the suspect was arrested.
