DC police announce road closures for Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5K on Saturday

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that roads in D.C. will be closed Saturday for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5K.

Participants choose between a half marathon, which starts at 8 a.m., or a 5K, which starts at 7:45 a.m. Organizers said that the marathon has a time limit of four hours and the 5K has a time limit of one hour.

The marathon starts at Constitution Avenue and 14th Street NW and ends at 4th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The 5K starts and finishes at 4th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

MPD said that the following streets will be emergency no parking from 6 p.m. on Friday to 6 p.m. on Saturday:

• Pennsylvania Avenue from 3^rd Street to 7^th Street, NW

• Constitution Avenue from 3^rd Street to 7^th Street, NW

• 3^rd Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW

• 4^th Street from Madison Drive to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

• 6^th Street from C Street to Constitution Avenue, NW

These streets will be emergency no parking on Saturday from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

• Constitution Avenue from 7^th Street 23^rd Street, NW

• 10^th Street from Constitution Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

• 12^th Street from Constitution Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

• 14^th Street from Constitution Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

• Virginia Avenue from 18^th Street to 19^th Street, NW

• 18^th Street from Constitution Avenue to E Street, NW
